Hunan hosts trade promotion in city

HUNAN Province's government is hosting a business-promotion week in Shanghai, looking for foreign and domestic investors for more than 800 business projects with a total investment of more than US$40 billion.
The hundreds of projects open to foreign investment involve industries such as port construction, farming, garbage and waste-water processing, as well as TV and cartoon production.
"Shanghai and Hunan have a long history of close business ties, while investment from the city in Hunan has been rising by 10 percent in recent years," Gan Lin, a vice governor of Hunan Province, said in Shanghai yesterday.
Last year, national authorities issued reforms to limit processing trade in prosperous coastal regions, moving businesses to inland areas.
"We will make use of Shanghai's international platform to introduce Hunan Province as the ideal location to transfer business from the Yangtze River Delta region," according to Gan.
