The number of travelers is capped at 100, the same as a similar tour being arranged in Guangzhou, capital city of Guangdong Province. The trip's cost and itinerary have not yet been decided. Shanghai CYTS Tours Corporation and Jinjiang Travel Service have been authorized to accept tour applications, the report said. According to preliminary planning, the 10-day trip will cover major cities and scenic sites such as Taipei, Hualien and Sun Moon Lake. The tours will give travelers ample time to experience local customs and scenery, the report said. It has not been decided upon direct flights between the mainland and Taiwan, thus flight prices have not been established. Some tourism industry insiders predicted that the total price of a Taiwan trip will be about 10,000 yuan (US$142.9), the report said. The travel agencies will promote other Taiwan trips in the future with itineraries ranging from 7 to 14 days at prices between 10,000 yuan and 20,000 yuan, the report said.
