A passenger surnamed Li told Beijing Times the flight was bound for Pusan, South Korea, and was scheduled to take off at 8:25am yesterday from Beijing. However, all 168 passengers were told to board another plane in a written notice that didn't provide an explanation. The report didn't identify the suspicious goods. However, passengers were informed about 8:30am that departure had been postponed to 11:30am. Soon five police cars and Inspection and Quarantine Bureau officials arrived. Two officials wearing chemical protection suits and 15 policemen with a police dog boarded the plane. Three more officials with rubber gloves boarded the plane 30 minutes later. Three packages were taken off the plane, the newspaper reported. The plane finally took off at 3:46pm yesterday. Air China's customer service said there was something wrong with the first plane while the bureau confirmed officials found suspicious articles on the second plane. The articles have already been sent for inspection, the report said. Li told the newspaper the airline didn't give any explanation for the delay, which ruined their trip.
