TWO men who kidnapped a KTV hostess, stole her cash and bank card, then broke into her house and took naked photographs of her flat mates, have been jailed.

The men stole more than 20,000 yuan (US$2,857).

The Putuo District People's Court sentenced Lan Linjun, 40, to 11 1/2 years in prison, and Huang Zhaoliang, 26, to 11 years for robbery. Lin Zaili, an accomplice of the pair, is still at large.

The three men, all from Zhejiang Province and unemployed, planned to rob KTV hostesses last December as they believed the women would be carrying a lot of money from tips.

They bought stun guns, knives and adhesive tape. On the night of December 16, the three went to a karaoke bar on Changshu Road.

They later invited a KTV mistress surnamed Zhang to a hotel under the premise of having midnight snacks and asked Zhang to call her roommate surnamed Ma to the hotel, too.

The three then robbed Ma of 1,200-yuan cash and two bank cards after threatening her with stun guns and knives. Zhang was forced to reveal her bank card code and her address.

Lan and Huang went to Zhang's residence and entered with the key they had stolen. In addition to stealing 800-yuan cash from Zhang, they robbed Zhang's two other roommates of a mobile phone, 3,000-yuan cash and three bank cards. Lan drew out 15,000 yuan from Zhang's bank card.

To prevent the victims from reporting the incident to police, the pair took naked pictures of them with a camera they carried and forced them to take sleeping pills.

The three escaped to Zhejiang after dividing the stolen property. Lan and Huang were soon caught.

Lan argued at the hearing that he extorted the victims with their naked pictures but didn't rob them.

His point wasn't accepted by the court. The pair had entered others' residence with intent to steal so they were sentenced to more than 10 years.
