Beijing to host Mind Sports gala

BEIJING will host the first World Mind Sports Games from October 3-18, featuring five events and, yes, doping controls.
About 3,000 competitors from more than 100 countries will be competing for 35 gold medals in chess, bridge, draughts (checkers), Go and Xiang Qi (Chinese chess), the International Mind Sports Association announced in Athens yesterday. IMSA President Jose Damiani said there are 1 billion people around the world who play the games.
