Another night bus to link 2 airports

Shanghai will add 50 new bus routes in the second half of the year, including a night bus connecting Pudong International Airport to Hongqiao International Airport’s Terminal 2.

Currently, the airport night bus runs between Pudong to Hongqiao airport’s Terminal 1 from 11pm with a 40-minute interval. The new planned service is expected to cut the interval time.

Among the 50 new routes, 22 will connect the city’s main bus hubs to the Metro stations. Others will connect large-scale residential areas to public facilities like schools, hospitals and commercial centers.

Meanwhile, 38 existing bus routes will be canceled and 114 lines adjusted to optimize the public traffic network. The cancellations will mainly involve routes running along major thoroughfares like Huaihai Road, Pudong Avenue and Gonghexin Road.
