Garbage sorting plan

The city’s greenery authorities plan to add another 400,000 households in its garbage sorting plan this year and complete the construction of 2,000 electronic waste recycling spots. The aim is to achieve a per capita garbage treatment volume of household garbage at 0.66 kilograms daily, compared with 0.7 kilograms per day at present, according to the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau. A total of 2.05 million households have been included in the sorting plan by the end of last year.
